The Planets
The Planets are Mike Daly (vocals, guitar), Tim Gillespie (lead guitar, vocals), Jim "Smitty" Smith (drums, vocals) and Jim Van Sickle (bass, vocals). Musically, the band's repertoire starts with The Beatles and then veers off into places that are fondly recalled but not heavily traveled. The King? Springsteen? Petty? Yes to all three, but there's also the Animals, Queen, Nick Lowe, Stealer's Wheel, Cheap Trick, Ramones, Incubus, Blink-182, Jimmy Eat World and Smash Mouth...not to mention the immortal Norman Greenbaum.
